ABOUT US

History

Ocean County Long Term Recovery Group (OCLTRG), the parent organization of Compass 82, was established in November 2012 with support and guidance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, New Jersey Joint Field Office during the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. The organization has been a trusted resource and lifeline orchestrating successful recovery solutions for households. OCLTRG’s effective knowledge, guidance and leadership yielded a broad network of mental, emotional and financial support for 5,000+ displaced individuals and more than $12 million to homeowners affected by Hurricane Sandy. OCLTRG received tax-exempt (501c3) status from the Internal Revenue Service in April 2014.

Leveraging OCLTRG’s vast experience with disaster survivors, Compass 82 launched in 2016 to provide guidance during the early days following a disaster. The assistance offered to disaster survivors by Compass 82 is one-of-a-kind and essential to insuring homeowners receive the necessary resources for putting their lives back together as quickly as possible.
